The first revolution in Ladonia took place in 1999 and lasted for two weeks. The minister of accommodation demanded that Queen Ywonne I and president Fernando should resign. This was the signal of an intensive campaign for and against the revolution. But the ruling regime got the necessary majority to continue.

THE WAR
The war against the Swedes was brought into a new situation when the landowner (or we can say those people claiming Ladonia country as theirs) went to court in order to have Nimis (the whole wooden structure), Arx (the concrete book) and Omfalos (a piece of concrete marking the center of the world). The landowner is represented by count Joergen Ehrensvaerd. The courtcase went on for several years. In the end of 2001 the court made the decision that Nimis and Arx couldn't be removed, but Omfalos could.
In December 2001 the enforcement officer removed Omfalos in a secret mission on a Sunday morning at 6.00. A big crane boat was used. The artist Lars Vilks was then demanded to pay for the removal ($ 9.000). The courtcase is still going on.
The swedish authorities have gained control of the Omfalos spot. State Secretary Lars Vilks has been able to get permission to set up a memorial of the lost Omfalos, a small version on 8 cm.
