GOVERNMENTAL CRISIS IN LADONIA

After the election when president Fernando was reelected together with the new vice president Kicki Hankell we have had a crisis in the cabinet. As you all have been able to read in the president’s letter he frankly dismissed the whole goverment. It is not easy to make the correct interpretation of our president’s intentions. One minister, Gunnar Jarl, minister of unschooling, accepted the dismissal, but probably because he found this as a way of responding to what has to be understood as a proposal from the president. The question whether the ministers have been dismissed or not is still open. It could be that what is going on is to be understood as a tactical move by the president. Last time (in March 99) the president went strongly in action the result was the Ladonian e-mail revolution – many e-mails were written.
It is at the moment very unclear what will happen in the cabinet but we might call the situation a question of confidence.

THE COUNT APPEALS THE VERDICT AGAIN

The good news from the latest verdict was still shining over Ladonia when the count decided to continue his so far lost courtcase. It is now up to the Supreme Court to treat the matter. The first step is whether the matter will be accepted or not. New decision to come in a few months…

HEADING FOR 5 000

Very soon Ladonia will pass the number of 5 000 registered citizens. Citizen number 5 000 will be made an honorary citizen.

LADONIA IN ARABIC

The famous photographer Sayed Khatib from Egypt told us the other day that ”Ladonia” in arabic means ”no world”. It is very suitable and a good solution to the problem which is present among the nations of today: What is a nation?

Today I was notified my new poem "The Antarctic Ladonia" is to be published in the Hard cover Anthology "Natures Echoes" ISBN: 1-58235-564-9. Believe it or not "The Selection Committee" for the International Library of Poetry has certified the poem as a semifinalist in the North American Open Poetry Contest, finals in October. This "Poem" is scheduled for publication in Winter 2001.”

THE ISLAND OF HVEN

The state secretary has made a sculpture on the island of Hven, a swedish island between Sweden and Denmark. On this island the astronomer Tycho Brahe worked for many years in the 16th century. The sculpture consists of 60 tons of stones and is about 6 meters high. On the top the astronomer Torbjörn Wiesel has constructed an engine that are following the place where Tycho in 1572 found a supernova. This sculpture which is controversial among the people living on the island might be the beginning of conquering another part of swedish ground to Ladonia.

GUL OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF LADONIA

A group of international delegates from Gulwatches paid a visit to Ladonia on the 2nd of September. They made an agreement with the state secretary to become the official sponsor of Ladonia. Our sponsor (www.gulwatches.com) is dealing with a suitable subject ”time” and fits into the project of dividing Ladonia into a number of time zones which will mean that a visit in Ladonia will also be a travel in time. Official time in Ladonia is standard european time minus 3 minutes. Three new timezones will immediately be introduced. The Throne (the construction between Nimis and Arx) will have european standard time minus 63 minutes. In Arx the time will be european standard time minus 123 minutes. At Omfalos (the center of the world) the time will be minus 183 minutes.

AT THE END OF THE DAY
A word from our Minister of Health

After the end of many a day, in deepest night, when the moon is down and the sky clear, the Department of Health has its conference table moved outdoors and all lights put out in Ladonia, to contemplate the stars - and thus seated, all leaning back supporting their heads in crossed hands behind their necks, the staff would listen to the thoughts of their beloved chairman, Dr von Bock, "Very briefly", for eaxample he would begin, "there are facts; there is a universe - of facts - and that's all there is - but if that's all there is, something would not be, lest you want to have a limited universe, and then it would be limited by something and not any more a universe, and that something would be - whatever - and comprise among again, whatever, not actualized possibilities - we are really only talking about arbirtary computation rules here, what to include and what to exclude - nothing else or even factual in itself - We are not even there at the facts, not even close to the truth - we are just stupid philosophers."
"But one fact - let's imagine man as a house, and the lower story in this house in perfect scientific order - nothing disturbing - we can change everything around by moving upstairs, and find that here the mind is shere magic - the rules of probability mathematics do not any more apply. We can do incredible things. After long time being hard on myself and open to something other than intelligence, I am convinced - however brilliant we might think we are, however much in love with our own great self image we might like to be - being open we can be filled with wonder and share in all that out there. But as long as this story remains blended with the lower one, we cannot make use of its power. You may call it fairy tales or what you want, and I am not maintaining any factual image to image metaphorical likeness with the real world in any way such as e.g. our minds are like that or trying to convince you that the devil might be a rouge man with two horns, a hoof and a tail - but the function of this second story in the house is there, freedom from the rules of probability, and in my experience that has to do with the deeper significance of 'emotion' - and that's again - my experience."
"However - there indeed is too much order in the world - men do as a matter of fact have the power to influence random events generators with their minds, all parapsychological test requirements fulfilled, and random sequences in Nature are not entirely random but follow the famous 1/f distribution, for reasons as yet unexplained - so again - my theory would take a closer look at the second story of the above mentioned house - to be named arbitrarily Mind&Universe - nobody knowing where one begins and the other ends, or what's the heads and tails of it."
The staff, all the while leaning back around the table and contemplating the sky, sometimes fills in with "Hmhm".
