Inspiration for artists

Filed under: culture — Lars Vilks @ 10:16 am

Nimis has always inspired artists. A fine example is John Bauer’s (1882-1918) Wotan Rider. The picture was found and documented by Minister of Future Science James Hartman.

Great Wall of China on its way

Filed under: culture — Lars Vilks @ 10:35 pm

The Great Wall of China will be moved to Ladonia. The first stones from the wall arrived yesterday. Head of Office of Space Administration Franc Ciber has started this project.

There is still some problems about where it should be placed. Ladonia is only 1 square km and the wall is 8.850 km long.

An exciting project in the biennial

Filed under: Art Biennial 09, culture — Lars Vilks @ 8:47 pm

The Polish artist Aleksandra Mir is creating a stunning project in the Ladonia Biennial. Her work is called Ladonia Pavilion and its content is that Ladonia will participate in the Venice Biennial with a pavilion of its own. Or rather several of them as she will bring 90 small pavilions to Venice with the 90 artists from Ladonia and Venice Biennials exhibiting in them. Each pavilion is the size of a plastic disposable cup. The artist will bring the pavilions to Venice in a boat trip from Ladonia.

The visitors in Ladonia can receive an empty pavilion when they visit. It can be used as a drinking cup or whatever the visitor wishes. More details here.
