The Day of Ladonia Citizens

Filed under: General information, Breaking News — Lars Vilks @ 1:09 am

The number of the citizens of Ladonia is almost 12 000. We need a special day to celebrate them. A proposal from our Minister of Harley-Davidson Motorbikes has been accepted.

The Day to celebrate this year is YESTERDAY.

Every citizen will yesterday be given a special Ladonia egg!

Here is the egg. (Photo: Minister James Hartman)

And when enjoying the egg, the citizen can also enjoy a piece of music:Yesterday
(scroll down to Yesterday, Beatles)

It meant a lot of work for Ladonia to clean all the eggs yesterday.

Next year the Day of Ladonia Citizens will be celebrated the day before yesterday.

Ladonia Bob Team

Filed under: Sport — Lars Vilks @ 12:45 am

The Olympic Games in Torino was not a real success for Ladonia. We only got two gold medals. The second one was in bobsledding, hte first in ice hockey. It is not correct that the Swedes won the ice hockey tournement. It is sheer propaganda.

Olympic Victory for Ladonia

A triumph for Ladonia Hockey

Today, on the 25th of February, the Ladonia National Icehockey Team won the gold medal in the Olympic Games.

Golden Winners! In Ladonia ice hockey has slightly different rules than what normally is expected. The game is played by one team at a time. The players in the team move around for one and a half hour with two breaks. Players are often shouting. The best performance gives the winner.

Admiral and Ladonia Info

Remember my Motto:
“Plus altus simia est, plus tibi asinus vedere”.
(The higher is the monkey, the more you see his butt).

Adm. Pedro

That is something to think about. And more foods for thought can be found in the information about Ladonia in Wikipedia, now updated by Admiral (and Minister) Pedro.

Minister of Finance speaks

Filed under: The Ministers — Lars Vilks @ 2:44 pm

Minister of Finance here . . .

Further to the subject of artificial languages spoken by considerable
numbers of people, a wholly invented language is Klingon, spoken by
“trekkies” (fans of the Star Trek movies and TV series) everywhere.

There are a couple of websites which offer lessons in Klingon, and some
on-line English-Klingon dictionaries. The language was developed
specifically for the series, and it is owned and copyrighted Paramount
Pictures/Viacom. You cannot publish anything using Star trek characters
or the Klingon language or even the Klingon alphabet without their
permission, and all materials must be reviewed and approved by them.

The language is full of coughs, spits, snarls and growls, but it
actually does have a well structured and pretty understandable grammar
and syntax. The vocabulary is somewhat limited, but is adequate for the
needs of the show and for simple conversations. Remember that even
though English has almost 1,000,000 words, the average speaker of
English regularly uses only about 800 of them.

My contact with the Klingon language was fairly strange - I am a Notary
Public, and as such, can perform weddings here. I officiated at a
wedding in which the groom was a Star Trek fan, and he wanted the
ceremony to be conducted in Klingon. I did some research, and was making
pretty good progress in translating the wedding vows from English into
Klingon, and then someone told the bride-to-be about it. She immediately
put her hands on her hips and her foot down - “My wedding is going to be
in ENGLISH or there won’t BE a wedding, do you understand me, fool?”
(She was addressing her husband-to-be.)

He quickly saw the light, and I didn’t have to work on the translation
any more - which was a great relief.

Best Regards,

Mike Arman

Ladonia Embassy in Bangkok on fire

Filed under: Breaking News — Lars Vilks @ 1:26 am

“We must accept that the global economic landscape in the new millennium is much different than in preceding decades.”

- Thaksin Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand

These words also means trouble. I got this letter from the Ladonian Embassy today:

“Dear Secretary Of State

Got some bad news Lars, our Embassy caught fire two weeks ago, I was out at
the time.
The rebuild will start soon but mant strange things happening.
My dispute with Shinawatra has had some drama. Two gun shots fired near my
car about 3.00 a.m. the other night certainly demonstrated he was having a
tantrum….. I warned him, if you attack someone’s love you have attacked
God himself.
As they would say in Shamley Green…. he will just have to Gin and Bare
it….. pooh to slave drivers

I will arrange the transfer soon. What are the Bank details again?

My passport has been “stolen” so I may have to get another one.

The view from the Embassy, by chance, overlooks The Embassy Of The Holy See
(Benedict’s place in Bangkok).

Tonight I will be visiting Camelot seems to be full of angels none of them
look like Knights.

Regards

His Excellency
The Ladonian Ambassador
Count Erik Young
privately King Erik Of Ladonia”

Ladonia will make an official note to Thai Government.

War is over Dick!

Filed under: Breaking News — Lars Vilks @ 12:07 pm

Problems with Dick
The Ladonia war against US ended a couple of weeks ago. One of the main tactics in this war was to let americans shoot each other. Ladonia had a strong and willing soldier in the vice president Dick Cheney, constantly shooting. Now we have difficulties with making him stop. Let us try again: Dick, stop shooting, the war is over!

Dick is too fond of his guns to let them go, but Ladonia do not need his help anymore.
